By the time of technology development, it has become easier to edit, watch and transmit videos. However, video files contain time factors, which make it difficult for users to make annotations or quote part of whole video contents.
This study arms to explore the latent demands of video viewers, which is to tagging on video segments. The experiments and interviews would be used to understand video viewers; in which, the purpose of watching specific videos, the cognition of the videos, the need of tagging on the video segments, the operation of tagging, and the reuse of the tagged contents would be discussed. A user-centered method would be use to design the video tagging interface, which enables video views to mark specific video segments with text labels, would be established for test and expected to gain feedbacks from trial users. The result would provide more operating details from video viewers and users to advance system developers and video sharing platform providers.
