The problem of global warming has attracted attention from all over the world. Our country is concerned with this important issue, whether the provisions of compulsory education or higher education meet the needs of the future, and whether the practice of low-carbon life has fallen into reality and even important in life and education. This study focuses on the current situation of college students facing climate change, environmental behaviors and environmental attitudes, and explores the relationship between climate change awareness, sustainable campus cognitive appraisal and low-carbon life attitude, low-carbon life behavior.
This study refers to the "Sustainability Cultural Indicators Program" of the University of Michigan in the United States. It conducts the study of the four aspects of Cheng-Kung University as the research subject, and discusses the students of Taiwan and the United States on different aspects. The research results are as follows.
1. Three aspects of "climate change awareness", "sustainable campus cognitive appraisal" and" low-carbon life attitude" directly or indirectly affect "low-carbon life behavior". Both "climate change awareness" and "sustainable campus cognitive appraisal" have to influence "low-carbon life behavior" through "low-carbon life attitude", which is a complete intermediary effect. 2. There is a significant difference in “low-carbon life behavior” among college students in Taiwan and the United States. The performance of “healthy environment” and “recycling behavior” of Taiwan college students is slightly higher than that of American college students.
