中文摘要 在資訊科技飛速進步的時代,企業常需使用及管理大量的電腦伺服器系統,而當系統產生異常狀況甚而停機時,對企業造成的損失,往往難以估計。而企業卻往往以有限的伺服器管理人力,來同時管理數量持續增加的伺服器,因此如何能在第一時間發現伺服器的異常並快速的完成異常問題處理,已經變成伺服器管理人員的首要工作。
由於大企業內部的伺服器數量眾多而位置分散,並且監控的介面相當多元,造成伺服器管理人員無法時時刻刻的逐一管理,往往都是當伺服器出現異常或當機一段時間後才發現問題,不能在問題發生當下立即馬上處理,無論是異常延遲處理所衍伸的修復難度問題,或是系統異常造成的生產延遲,所造成的企業損失都是難以估計的!如何越早地發現伺服器異常現象與問題,並且越早去解決這些問題,把損失降到最小甚至是零是相當關鍵的,而關鍵點就在於伺服器出現異常現象時,如何馬上發現並解決之。
本論文旨在建立一套整合軟體多代理人(Multi-agent)來執行伺服器系統即時監控的機制,使用代理人所具有的主動行為的特性來自主地發送其監控伺服器時所發現之異常狀況之詳細訊息。透過在每一伺服器端線上監控系統的軟體代理人來即時的掌控所有伺服器的運作狀況,當任一伺服器有運作異常狀況發生時,並可透過各種通訊機制,如簡訊或MSN即時通等,即時通知伺服器管理人員馬上處理,以確保伺服器的正常運轉。如此能夠相對地提早發現問題,並能夠有效的縮短異常問題修復的時間,有效的抑制伺服器異常的擴大與所造成的衍伸性的問題,進而減少營運上的損失,有效的提升企業的生產營運效率!
英文摘要 In the era of fast progressing in information science and technology, enterprises own and manage numerous computer server systems. Even a single server functioning abnormally or crashing would let an enterprise experience inestimable losses. While enterprises usually use limited manpower for managing the fast growing number of servers , and all the servers may be physically scattered, and have diverse managing interfaces. It makes server administrators unable to detect and correct abnormalities in the first place. Delayed discoveries of server abnormalities or crashes make correction more complicated and difficult, which, in turn, enormously reduces the performance of enterprises in both management and production. Therefore how to fast detect and correct the abnormality of servers becomes critical and should be the primary concern of server administrators. The key is the ability to sense the abnormality of servers and to notify their administrators immediately.
This thesis designs and implements a mechanism, based on a set of multi-agents, which can monitor enterprises’ server systems in real time, and, by using the initiative behavior of software agents, to notify server administrators immediately via a variety of methods once abnormalities happen. A software agent residing in a server takes the responsibility of supervising hardware or software operating status of the server by collecting predefined parameters, such as temperatures, disk spaces, or resource usages, and sending them to a central control server. The multithreaded control agents in the central control server filter out the information received to see if there is any abnormality. When an abnormality happens, the control server will use a variety of methods, such SMS or MSN, to notify relevant administrators to restore the operation back to normal as soon as possible. In such a way, abnormalities can be detected and corrected in the first place to avoid complicated and difficult late corrections and the performance of enterprises in both management and production can be promoted in a great scale.
