In recent years, information technology advances, coupled with the popularity of mobile devices and digital reading trend, the applications of e-book get much attention. Previous e-book studies had investigated on issues such as reading device or reading behavior. However, with the booming of cloud computing technologies, the e-book studies consdiering cloud computing features had not yet appeared. Also, prior studies show that if the products and services having interactivity characteristics can offer better user experience. Although there are interactive e-book products available on the market, user experiences with these products remain unexplored. Therefore, this study considers both the effets of interactive features of the e-books and the characteristics of cloud computing technologies on user experiences, and expects to provide e-book industry a reference to improve its product and service quality.

This study carried out interviews and observations with participants who are required to use e-books for their work. As a result, this study confirmed that user experiences can be affected by e-book’s interactive features and the characteristics of cloud computing. Interactive features added on e-books give users different reading experiences, and find interesting during the reading process. Also, cloud computing characteristics applied in the e-book help participants retrieve more related information about work content. Overall, participants’ feedbacks showed that their behavioral intention, satisfaction and preference about e-book are higher. These results can be provided to the e-book publishing industry as a reference, adding more interactive elements on existing products and services, to increase consumer satisfaction with products, preference and degree of willingness to buy or use then creates more business opportunities.
