中文摘要 台灣係一典型海島國家,但以往「重陸輕海」的觀念,加上海洋教育未受到必要的重視,導致國人缺乏海洋思維的認知。近年來,為喚起國民海洋意識,政府提出「海洋立國」的理念,並進行一系列的海洋政策與教育推展。大學生普遍被認為是未來國家領袖菁英與社會決策者,因此他們對於海洋環境的認知多寡,都會在未來我國發展海洋的過程中有著關鍵性的影響。因此,本研究旨在瞭解台灣大學生的海洋環境意識,並以自編之問卷分析大學生海洋環境意識現況和各面項關係。研究對象為台灣地區之一般公私立大學,並以大學所處之地域做為抽樣依據,共計抽取20所大學,並發放1,000份問卷。回收之問卷以SPSS、LISREL軟體進行分析,以下為本研究結果: 一、大學生在海洋環境敏感度的平均為4.25,代表學生對於目前海洋相關破壞情形感覺到「嚴重」和「非常嚴重」。二、大學生在海洋環境態度的平均為4.28,代表學生對於目前海洋環境保護態度介於「同意」和「非常同意」。三、大學生在海洋環境行為的平均為2.66,代表學生對於目前海洋的相關參與介於「很少做到」和「偶爾做到」。四、大學生在海洋環境知識的平均為3.41,而學生在海洋社會、文化和科學中,平均答對率皆達60%以上,但在海洋資源的答對率僅37.2%。五、海洋環境知識與態度對行為有正向影響(其中知識對行為的影響為最大)。六、海洋環境敏感度對行為無產生正向影響(但具間接效果)。七、海洋環境敏感度、態度和知識倆倆有正向相關存在。整體來說,本研究認為知識乃是提昇學生海洋環境意識的重要因子。
英文摘要 Taiwan is an island country. People in Taiwan generally are in lack of marine consciousness due to the traditional concept of “land over ocean” rooted in people’s mind and the ignorance of marine education. In recent years, to awaken people’s marine consciousness, the government started to promote the policy of “building nation through ocean” and furthermore initiated a number of marine-related programs. College students are generally regarded as future elite leaders and decision makers in our society. Their understanding and perception of the marine environment plays a critical role in shaping the ocean policy of a country. In this regard, this paper aims to examine how college students in Taiwan perceive the marine environment and marine related issues and analyze the factors to the marine environmental behavior. A questionnaire method was employed. 20 colleges were selected based on their geographical distribution. Students enrolled in these colleges were conveniently sampled to fill the questionnaire. A total of 1,000 surveys were collected. The results show that the mean of environmental consciousness is 4.25, indicating that students on average perceive the destruction of the marine environment is serious. The mean of environment attitude is 4.28, showing that students have a positive attitude toward the marine environment. As for participation of marine recreational activities, the mean is 2.66, indicating that students are seldom engaged in the said activities. The factors of marine environmental knowledge and attitude have a positive on behavior. The effect of knowledge is much greater than that of other two factors, indicating that education is crucial in promoting students’ environmental consciousness.
