中文摘要 本研究目的探討音樂聆聽對大學生身心反應之影響。採單組前後測設計,以立意取樣於南部某國立大學進行招募,研究對象共122位,將其分為四組,喜悅音樂組26位、緊張音樂組28位、悲傷音樂組35位、平靜音樂組33位。實驗中各組聆聽其所屬類型的音樂15分鐘,身心反應的測量工具包括:心理指標-情境焦慮量表、焦慮與憂鬱視覺類比量尺;生理指標-NeXus-10生理監測儀,採用心率變異,其指標包括VLF、LF、HF、LF/HF ratio、SDNN、rMSSD、NN50及pNN50。利用SPSS 20.0版套裝軟體進行描述性及推論性等統計資料分析。
研究結果發現,音樂聆聽前後(一)心理指標:1.喜悅(分別為t = -5.2, p=.00、t = -3.6, p=.00)、悲傷(分別為t = -3.2, p=.00、t = -0.8, p=.45)及平靜(分別為t = -5.5, p=.00、t = -3.5, p=.00)音樂組的情境焦慮量表及焦慮視覺類比量尺分數皆達統計顯著差異。2.喜悅(t = -3.3, p=.00)及平靜(t = -2.2, p=.03)音樂組的憂鬱視覺類比量尺分數也達統計顯著差異。3.緊張音樂組在三個量表之分數皆未達統計顯著差異(p>.05)。(二)生理指標:1.緊張音樂組的HF(t = -2.13, p=.04)及rMSSD(t = -2.77, p=.01)達統計顯著差異。2.悲傷音樂組的LF(t = 2.31, p=.03)及LF/HF ratio(t = 3.00, p=.01)達統計顯著差異。3. 喜悅及平靜音樂組的心率變異各指標皆未達統計顯著差異(p>.05)。
研究結果顯示聆聽不同類型的音樂會產生不同步的心理與生理反應,聆聽喜悅及平靜音樂可顯著改善焦慮與憂鬱,但心率變異卻無差異;聆聽緊張音樂時心理指標無明顯變化,而心率變異呈現副交感神經活性下降;聆聽悲傷音樂時可舒緩焦慮情緒,心率變異呈現交感神經活性上升之變化。因此,未來若提供音樂聆聽給予有情緒舒緩訴求者或護理臨床患者時應考量音樂類型的選擇。
英文摘要 The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of music listening on psychophysiological responses among undergraduate students. A one-group pretest-posttest design was used. Purposive sampling was used to recruit students at a national university in southern Taiwan. A total of 122 participants were divided into four groups: joyful music (26), tense music (28), sad music (35), and peaceful music (33). Each group listened to their assigned type of music for 15 minutes during the experiment. Measurement instruments for psychophysiological responses included as follows: psychological indicators: the Sate-Trait Anxiety Inventory, the Visual Analogue Scales (VAS) for anxiety and for depression; physiological indicators: the NeXus-10 physiological monitor (for measuring heart rate variability indices including VLF, LF, HF, LF/HF ratio, SDNN, rMSSD, NN50, and pNN50). Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were performed using SPSS version 20.0.
The results of comparisons between before and after music listening were as follows: (1) psychological indicators: (a) there were statistically significant differences in the scores of the Sate-Trait Anxiety Inventory and the VAS for anxiety in the joyful (t = -5.2, p = .00; t = -3.6, p = .00, respectively), sad (t = -3.2, p = .00; t = -0.8, p = .45, respectively), and peaceful (t = -5.5, p = .00; t = -3.5, p = .00, respectively) music groups; (b) there were statistically significant differences in the scores of the VAS for depression in the joyful (t = -3.3, p = .00) and peaceful (t = -2.2, p = .03) music groups; (c) no statistically significant differences were found (p  .05) in the scores of all the three scales in the tense music group. (2) physiological indicators: (a) there were statistically significant differences in HF (t = -2.13, p = .04) and rMSSD (t = -2.77, p = .01) in the tense music group; (b) there were statistically significant differences in LF (t = 2.31, p = .03) and LF/HF ratio (t = 3.00, p = .01) in the sad music group; (c) no statistically significant differences were found (p  .05) in all the heart rate variability indices in the joyful and peaceful music groups.
The results of this study suggested that listening to different types of music would cause different psychological and physiological responses. Listening to joyful and calm music could significantly improve anxiety and depression but without changes in heart rate variability; listening to tense music did not cause significant changes in psychological indicators but showed reduced parasympathetic activation in heart rate variability; listening to sad music could relieve anxiety and showed increased sympathetic activation in heart rate variability. In the future, the choice of type of music should therefore be taken into consideration when providing music listening to people who look for relief of emotions or when nursing patients in clinical practice.
